This trip to Foothills Humane Society in Foothills, NC included faculty advisor Sarah Manning, Allie Levister (officer), John Levister, Oliva Pate, and Andrew Scruggs.

We started the day off muck some manure out of the stable area where an abandoned pony had lived for a few days before being adopted by a local farm. There is nothing like bonding over fresh horse manure! Club members picked up dog poop, refilled water bowls and had lots of opportunity to love on the dogs in the outdoor pens. Lastly, we were put to work doing laundry and washing hundreds of food and water dishes. We then helped sanitize, scrub, and wash the floors of the outdoor training facility.

Sam, the volunteer coordinator at Foothills rewarded the team with the absolute BEST present ever: PUPPIES. These puppies were partially Saint Bernard and their names were Koda, Tuke, and Rutt, like the bear cub and moose brother in Disney's "Brother Bear" (that's one of Ms. Manning's favorite Disney films so she was freaking out with excitement and love). The puppies were so playful and absolutely precious.

What a wonderful way to end another hard working day at the Humane Society!
